Our Story
It started with a journey.
In 2004, founders Char and Stan Akinfe returned from Europe inspired by a different relationship with furniture and the spaces it inhabited.
Design was not simply functional. It was architectural, expressive, and deeply connected to the way people lived.
They saw an opportunity to bring that perspective home, to create a destination where distinctive design, quality, and exceptional value could exist together.
More than two decades later, that idea continues to shape Modern Contempo. We continue to search for compelling forms, unexpected materials, exceptional craftsmanship, and pieces capable of changing the feeling of a room.
